Celebrating National Payroll Week - 2020
The National Payroll Awareness Week is an annual celebration by the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) which celebrates the payroll industry in the UK - this year the event falls on the 7-11th September 2020 and has been endorsed and praised by the UK government for "keeping the UK paid". Read on to find out more about this prestigious event and what it means for us at Essential Payroll and all payroll professionals alike.
National Payroll Awareness Week 2020
The National Payroll Awareness Week was established in the UK by the CIPP in 1998 with the aim to celebrate the payroll profession, raise the profile of payroll within the UK, and educate people on the impact that payroll has on the UK economy; highlighting that payroll professionals do more than "just push a button" and indeed that they benefit all UK organisations through strategic decision making related to overall reward and remuneration.
Aside from being a general awareness week celebration, National Payroll Awareness Week is also an opportunity for CIPP members across the UK to meet and discuss UK payroll matters - this year due to the current circumstances the CIPP will be hosting all of the meetings virtually. These will be held on Monday 7th September, in conjunction with The Payroll Centre and Reward Strategy, and Thursday 10th September, when all payroll professionals will be able to join.
Everyone can join the conversation this week online by using the #NPW20 hashtag on social media.
